Babies need free tongue movement to decipher speech sounds

Speech is the production of sounds for example producing the 'p' sound. Adults with speech difficulties may have had difficulties since childhood. Speech difficulties may also occur in adults due to medical causes such as Stroke, Head Injury, or Brain Tumor. This may occur when the muscles of the mouth and neck have weakened or are unable to move how the brain tells them to.

Some people may also experience difficulties because English is their second language. This can affect a person's work prospects and inhibit their career. We at All Communication Matters Speech Pathology are able to work with different accents to modify and improve a person's speech.

If you are having difficulties with your speech contact us for an assessment!
